Clever

I'm a little annoyed at myself for not seeing how you tied the characters to Majora's Mask until the very end. It turned out to be a logical origin story for when you met the father & daughter in Ikana Canyon. Nicely done.

Animation/art/sounds weren't exactly phenomenal, but it was nicely put together.

Eastbeast responds:

yeah I will rethink the sound effects I use for next time while still staying true to using zelda like sounds. Thanks for your review :)

Woah, glad I made that double take!

This entire flash is amazing, awesome, and hilarious. The animation was smooth and well timed 100% the way through. And the voice/vocal work work very well in maintaining musicality while parodying the original song.

One thing I really enjoyed was the hidden details and features...and I'm not just talking about the easter egg! I was playing with the built-in seek bar to get a good look at the entire flash and did a double take at the Malfoy costume shuffle section. If you seek back to right before that section after playing through it, Malfoy takes on a different set of costumes! And it's different through several replays! I thought this was a clever addition to the movie, and a real treat to find!

Thanks for the great show!

That made my evening!

I was totally not expecting this! The title told me I'd be seeing some fan-made fight between popular characters, but instead I caught a glimpse of a hilarious adventure between several unique characters!

Your warning at the beginning declaring string language and adult themes had me on edge at the beginning...too much of that can make humor turn very sour very fast, imo. But nearly every line of dialogue was wittily delivered, ensuing hilarity! A MAJOR kudos to each voice actor, the show wouldn't have been NEARLY as good without them!

It's also cool how you know how to handle old & dead jokes. "Look, we already killed over 9000 of your guys-" "Ohhh Laaammmee!" "What'd I say?" Deftly executed, sir!

You've convinced me to check out some of your earlier material. I'd really look forward to seeing more of this!

Budj responds:

Wow! I'm stoked that you liked it so much! This really inspires me to keep working on the series. Thanks alot :D.

Pleasantly Surprised

I admit, I was skeptical at first. Upon seeing this flash on Newgrounds, I thought that some artist was looking to get an easy shoe-in to the Castle Calamity popularity.

I'm pleased to see that your efforts weren't cheap. The sprite animations were slick...you went a lot farther than most people to make sprites seem like smooth animations.

As for the humor, you weren't spot on all the time, but some of the takes got me going. I especially enjoyed the yoshi-faceplant (why haven't we seen this in-game already O_o).

In short, i enjoyed the show, very nicely done!

Very nice!

I was pleasantly surprised with the presentation here! The movie eased in nicely, and set the stage in well. Looking forward to seeing more!

I'm always a fan of seeing characters from multiple games interact with eachother. I can tell that this movie will be full of that (of there's one thing that phone's gonna do...), so keep it up!

That, and your execution for Tingle was hilarious. My eyes sort of bugged out of my skull when Falco got Tinglized! And the "eyes on you" motion...I swear, I would not be able to sleep for a week if Tingle did that to me. Nicely done! ^_^

Heroofflash responds:

Well, I think we all know now that this strange little man is not to be trifled with.

I'm going to have fun picking out characters to help out Link.

You simply cannot fail to deliver!

My day instantly becomes 10 times better as soon as I see this on the front page. Thank you for your commitment! :D

Ironically, I think my favorite part is the conversation between Sonic and Shadow. I really enjoy how everyone stays close to 100% in character (as for as the games go), even based on an extraordinary situation such as theirs. Shadow's reactions to Sonic were full of passion and spot on. Awesome!

You totally blow me away with the new things you do in every episode. Pretty much after each one, I think, "Well, he's done pretty much everything you can possibly do with sprite flashes!" Then wham: impressive 3d models and vector drawing animations. I'm seriously looking forward to what you might come up with on your next run!

And of course, the fighting sequences were outstanding. Via the use of the many Mario items, you keep coming up with new combat forms that keeps the game extremely fresh. Hammer mario was brillant and stylish. Fire Sonic...well, seeing as I'm 75% Sonic fan and 25% Mario fan...I pretty much almost wet myself. I was vaguely wondering where your new avatar came from. Question answered!!

I know you get a lot of pressure to get these done in a timely manner, and I'm trying my hardest not to ask for the same. Please keep doing exactly what you're doing at your own pace...you're making a lot of peoples' dreams come true here! :)

O.o

I first want to mention Alvin here. When seeing episode 6 of his series, I wondered if it was even possible for him to improve his series further. When I saw his segment here, I saw how there are hardly limits that one (namely Alvin) can do with sprites. Continue your great work!

As for the rest of the flash, it was as funny as always. I was wondering when Geno would fulfil his promise. Good thing I got Brawl when it shipped!

Away to Brawl now

Fantastic

Not only did you guys have some really funny stuff, but everything was extremely well animated. Even all of your different styles had some top quality material. Did i mention that they were funny?

I understand the Tails Doll joke and had fun playing with it. Then my eyes nearly bugged out of my sockets when it's face ran across the screen with it's red eyes and sinister voice. It took me a second to snap out of it. There goes any sleep tonight...

Was the credits song a remix of an old Sonic game? Sounds familiar...

thewax70 responds:

Thanks for the review. The credits song is a remix of the Sonic 3 credits.

I can relate to this...

Yet I remember sometimes where I have a hard time telling if I'm asleep or not.

On a couple of occasions, where I've clearly played too much video games earlier that day, I would dream of sitting up in my bed playing (what else?) video games, during which I feel tired and frustrated. I finally convince myself to put down the controller and lie down...only to find myself playing again the instant later. It feels like I'm awake the whole time, and I have to remind myself that my tv and game system aren't in front of my bed!

Wierd stuff. Good flash

Funny stuff

I wasn't too amused at first. The obvious ad speeches were funny until they became repetative.

Then the final message was given and the blue slurpy on the right give his one-worded opinion in it.

I couldn't help but snort into my can of soda.

Been around here for a while, just recently set up account. Still learning bells and whistles. Love a good flash, like everyone else.
